Farm Credit Welcomes Roca to Leesburg Branch

Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV) recently announced Nicole Roca has assumed the vacant Loan Officer position at the Leesburg, Virginia branch. Roca joins the organization with experience in the financial industry, as well as applied agricultural management skills, specializing in pasture health, livestock, and produce.

Roca currently resides in Leesburg, Virginia, although she grew up traveling quite a bit with her military family, she has called Virginia home for more than half of her life, specifically Leesburg and Loudon County. She concentrated in the Arts and English over five years at George Mason University and Marymount College.  Additionally, she received a certificate in Organic Dirt Farming from the University of Louisville.

Roca maintains a diverse agricultural background, from her long-time hobby and passion for horses, to a 12-year run on her own 40-acrea dirt farm in central Kentucky where she practiced alternative pasture management methods that encouraged strong soil health and sustainability. Additionally, Roca has experience maintaining a small-scale fruit orchard and vegetable garden.

In addition to her agricultural know-how and experience farming full-time, Roca brings working knowledge of the lending industry. Roca previously served two major banks in the Branch Manager role.

Community involvement has remained a cornerstone for Roca throughout her upbringing and adult life. Organizations that Roca has been involved in include dog and equine-focused groups such as the Pony Club, USET, Loudoun Hunt Club, Sweet Briar Friends of Riding, Friend of Woodford Hunt, Friend of Snickersville Hunt, 4H Dog Club Leader and The North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association as well as service-focused clubs such as Veterans Outreach/VA War Memorial, Virginia Tech Pylon Society and Circles RVA, and agriculturally-focused groups including Tricycle Urban Gardens.

In response to what Roca is most excited to bring to her new role at FCV, she shared, “I am bringing with me both the love of growing and the absolute respect for the people who make it their life.  I am fascinated by how things grow, how nature responds and how we can work with nature instead of against it. I look forward to bringing my background in lending and practical life experience working pasture, livestock and produce.”

Marilyn Adams, Regional Sales and Lending Manager says, “Nicole is a great addition to our team.  Her professionalism, knowledge of the banking industry and passion are admired.  Additionally, her positivity and flexibility to learn our systems during such a volatile time in the world are so refreshing.  We welcome Nicole to the Leesburg Team!”

In her free time, Roca is an avid equestrian. She shared, “I ride as often as I can. I have a young thoroughbred (OTTB, off-the-track thoroughbred) who was not successful in her first career, so I am restarting her.  I love to trail ride, fox hunt and show, we’ll do whatever type events that she does best.”
