Summer Intern Assumes Full-Time Generalist Position

In April, Farm Credit of the Virginias welcomed back 2018 summer intern, Laura Kiff, to assume a full-time Generalist position. Kiff will be working out of the Harrisonburg branch.

Kiff was born in Ottawa, Ontario, moved to the northern Virginia region at eight years old, and currently resides in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Kiff attended the University of Guelph, location in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, where she studied Management Economics and Finance.

While at the University of Guelph, Kiff served as the dressage team captain and competed on the Intercollegiate Dressage Association circuit. Kiff has been competing and working in the equestrian sport industry for over 15 years.

During her internship last summer out of the Leesburg branch, Kiff helped with loan packages, loan closings, construction inspections, and customer appreciation events. Kiff and her fellow interns had the opportunity to go on a number of farm tours throughout the Farm Credit of the Virginias territory, as well as training and development events in Columbia, SC, and Washington, DC.

Regarding her new position, Kiff shared, “I am excited to bring a fresh set of eyes and my knowledge from both my life and academic experiences to Farm Credit.”

”We are very pleased to welcome Laura to our team,” said Kiff’s supervisor Brad Hewitt.  “Laura’s experience as a Farm Credit of the Virginias summer intern and her passion for agriculture will allow her to make immediate contributions to serving our customer-owners.”
