As part of a national Farm Credit Farmers Market on July 26, 2017, Tim VanReenen of Hillsboro, WV joined lawmakers at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.
Tim joined more than 600 Farm Credit leaders from all across the country who traveled to Washington to meet with lawmakers and advocate for passing a strong Farm Bill on time that includes a farm safety net.
During the visit VanReenen met with Congressman Alex Mooney as well as Senator Joe Manchin and Senator Shelley Moore Capito to discuss the Farm Bill and how Farm Credit fulfills its mission to support rural communities and agriculture with reliable, consistent credit and financial services.
Tim and his parents operate a purebred and commercial beef cattle herd and also have a small row crop, hay and timber operation. Not only is he involved on the farm on a day-to-day basis. Tim is also employed off the farm as an insurance agent with a West Virginia insurance company.
