Briefly describe your involvement in 4-H. I was active in 4-H as a kid. My two children are also active in 4-H and I help out with several 4-H activities.
Briefly describe your involvement in FFA. I was a member of FFA in high school and received my Honorary American FFA Degree a few years back. Now, I help with several FFA events in the county and state.
Briefly describe your involvement in agriculture. I was always involved in our family farm growing up. Now I continue to farm, raising beef cattle, goats and high tunnel.
Are you involved in any other clubs or organizations? I am a member of Mountain View Church, West Virginia Farm Bureau and West Virginia Cattlemen’s Association.
Tell us about your family. My wife’s name is Pammy. We have one son, Cody, who is 20 years old and one daughter, Cady, who is 11 years old.
Where did you grow up? I grew up in Upper Tract, West Virginia.
What is your favorite book or author? My favorite book is the Bible.
What is your favorite movie? My favorite movie is 'Where the Red Fern Grows'.
What is your favorite season? My favorite season is fall because of hunting season.
Have you ever collected anything? I used to collect old bottles.
What was your dream job as a child? I always wanted to farm.
What is your favorite thing about Farm Credit? I enjoy being able to work with local farmers, helping them improve and grow their operations through advising and financing. I also learn a great deal from them.
What are your hopes for the ag industry? My hope for the ag industry is to get more young farmers involved to bring down the average age of farmers.
What is your biggest claim to fame? My biggest claim to fame is getting to be a father to two great kids.
