Farm Credit Welcomes Thomas to Processing Team

Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV) recently announced that Rockingham County native, Jessica Thomas, has joined the Harrisonburg processing team as a Loan Assistant. Thomas joins FCV with enthusiasm and a strong agricultural background.

Thomas grew up and currently resides in Elkton, Virginia. She has maintained an active role in the Rockingham County agricultural community since her youth. She grew up showing lambs, goats, steers, replacement heifers and hogs at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds. She was involved in both 4-H and FFA. In high school, she traveled up and down the east coast competing with her FFA chapter. She also competed on a host of judging teams, although really excelled in poultry judging, where she demonstrated her skill at the local, state, and national levels.

Thomas graduated from East Rockingham High School. She went on to obtain her Radiology Certification from Lord Fairfax Community College in addition to studying Dental Assisting at the Massanutten Technical Center.

Following high school, Thomas maintained her pulse on the Rockingham County agricultural community by volunteering for 4-H and FFA events as an alumni. Prior to joining the FCV team, Thomas served as a Dental Assistant for 3 and a half years, but ultimately decided to return to her roots serving the agriculture industry in the Loan Assistant role.

Thomas shared,” I am excited to bring my love and enthusiasm for agriculture to my new position and the FCV processing team. This opportunity allows me to broaden my career experience by serving an industry I’m passionate about. I’m ecstatic to be part of such a great company!”

Loan Operations Supervisor, Katrina Davis, said, “I am pleased to have Jess join our Processing Team.   She brings a wealth of agricultural knowledge with her and is passionate about being part of an organization that supports the farming community. She will be a strong asset.”

Thomas enjoys spending her free time in the woods or near a body of water. She is an avid kayaker, hunter, and fisherman.
