Farm Credit Welcomes Garcia as Senior Associate Accountant

Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV), a lending cooperative that serves Virginia, West Virginia and western Maryland, announced that Aimee Garcia has joined the Association as a senior associate accountant based at the Verona Operations Center.

Garcia is an Augusta County native; she grew up in Mount Sidney and currently resides outside of Waynesboro on 20 acres. Following graduation from Fort Defiance High School, Garcia started at Blue Ridge Community College before transferring to Liberty University, where she completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Business Administration. 

Garcia’s diverse background will serve her well in her new role. Prior to joining FCV, Garcia spent ten years as the co-owner of a farm, which raised turkeys for Cargill as well as hay and crops. She also spent five years combined in healthcare and manufacturing, performing clerical tasks and managing various programs, respectively. 

Regarding her new position with FCV, Garcia shared, “I am excited to bring my fresh perspective, strong work ethic, positive attitude and relevant skills to my new role. I am looking forward to working with a great team in a supportive atmosphere while gaining knowledge to help Farm Credit carry out its mission.” 

Scott Howerton, controller, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Aimee to the finance team here at Farm Credit. Her past experience and knowledge of the agriculture industry, along with her eagerness to learn will make her a valuable asset to our team and the Association.”

Outside of work, Garcia enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband have six children who are very active in sports and church. Garcia also enjoys trying new food and restaurants, visiting new places on vacation and spending time at the beach.
