Farm Credit Welcomes Richardson to Finance Team

Farm Credit of the Virginias recently announced that Betsy Richardson has joined the Staunton Administrative office as a Senior Associate Accountant.

Originally from Western New York outside of Buffalo, Richardson and her husband, Andrew, recently moved to Augusta County in Virginia. While living in New York State, Richardson served in the role of Staff Accountant at the Genesee County Economic Development Center for eight years, providing her with ample knowledge of government and fund accounting.

Richardson graduated in 2009 from Genesee Community College in Batavia, New York, with an Associate’s Degree in Teacher Education. She later returned to also complete an Applied Associate’s Degree in Accounting in 2011.

Regarding her new role, Richardson says, “I look forward to bringing my past experiences and knowledge of accounting in hopes of being a valuable asset to the Farm Credit Team.”  She continues, “I’m excited to learn and grow in this position, develop in my career and be a part of a great organization.”

She has also been active in her community, serving as a youth and children’s ministry volunteer at the Batavia Assembly of God Church for 10 years. In her spare time, Richardson enjoys spending time with her family and two dogs, Oliver and Lucy. She also has a love of all things outdoors- hiking, camping, hunting and taking in the mountain views of Virginia!

Scott Howerton, Controller and Richardson’s direct manager says, “We are excited to have Betsy join our Finance Team.  Her accounting knowledge and experience will be a valuable asset to our current team and look forward to working with her for many years to come.”
